For the fifth year in a row, Kapital has selected 40 of the most exciting talents in Norwegian business under 40. Robert Ekrem, Völur’s CEO and Co-Founder is one of them.  

Kapital's 40 under 40 presents some of the greatest talents in Norwegian working life. Some have already obtained top management positions in large companies or started their own companies that have grown at rocket speed and are valued at staggering sums. In contrast, others are included because they will become important future players in the business world. Everyone on the list stands out as hard-working, ambitious, goal-oriented, and with qualities and professional knowledge.  

Kapital has selected people from various industries, of different ages and backgrounds, within the upper age limit of 40 years. The aim is to show a representative selection of young, clever people who are unique in their respective fields and will make a strong mark in Norwegian business life in the next 10-15 years.

In 2020, Ekrem left his position as a category manager in NorgesGruppen in favor of entrepreneurial life. Together with Adrian Diaz and David Moriano, he started Völur with a strong vision to make the meat industry around the world more efficient and sustainable by enabling it with technology to make better use of the animals. The AI-based technology software Völur provides will streamline cutting and processing choices, which will help save the environment by making better use of the animals. Völur has already raised several million from, among others, Startuplab and Innovation Norway. Ekrem has several years' experience in the meat industry, having worked at Nortura, Norway's largest producer of meat and egg products, before becoming category manager at NorgesGruppen.
